OneTweetFiction Group Writing Project

Matt Roberts would like your help in calling attention to the global misery that is human trafficking, and the way to do it will be by building a story about it.

Slavery / Human Trafficking

In Matt’s words: “We are going to write a group-effort story about this crime against humanity in the hopes that a compelling fiction piece may move people to action more readily than all the documentaries and serious opinion pieces.”

  • Follow the story at
  • Submissions for the story are via tweets using the #otf hashtag.
  • The “best” line of the day will be added at (it’s not clear how the best line will be chosen, maybe Matt can tell us in the comments).
  • Recommended: follow @onetweetfiction on Twitter to know how the project is progressing (outside of the story itself).

Submission Deadline

The hopes of the project is to attract world attention to slavery, specifically in South Africa, by the time the World Cup is played there in June 2010

Starting Monday December 21st 2009

  2. Hi Jacob,

Thanks for spreading the word about the project. There are no concrete rules for which submission will be chosen each day, I’m just going to go with one that seems the most creative/compelling/logical for that point in the storyline. It should be interesting and hopefully a lot of fun. We’re still in the early stages of this project (the first line just went up today) so please feel free to find me on Twitter for any questions or suggestions. Thanks and hope to hear from some of you!
